The Post That Longs For Jailbait

Football is incredibly cruel. Like the mistress that chains you to the bedpost and whips you while forcing a dildo into the wrong end.

The last 3 days have been really difficult for me, as mentioned in the previous post. This morning, a very Chelsea-like effort was put in by the 2nds. Unfortunately, football being the cruel game that it is, we conceded two late goals. I was taken off before they went in, so I don't know if I could've prevented the goals or not. But our team, and mostly our defence, put in a monumental effort in the first half and most of the second to keep the opposition at bay. The game ended in tears (for me, anyway), but we had plenty of positives to take from it. However when you've lost in the manner we did, it's hard to look on the bright side of life.

However at the end of it all, you've gotta pick yourself up, shake hands with the opponents, and look forward to the next game. I've even typed out a match report for your reading pleasure!

Its games like these where you separate the men from the boys. We went into the game knowing that in order to get anything out of the game, we would have to play out of our skins and defend admirably. We started off well, playing neat passes and managed a shot that narrowly missed the goal. However after that we were subject to continuous BGS pressure but our defence stood strong. A few mistimed tackles allowed the opponent to occasionally get a shot on our goal, but goalie Wesley Hatcher was up to the task. The first half ended with the score tied at 0-0 and we were confident of being able to keep it like this until the end of the game.

The second half began like the first, with TSS being subject to wave-after-wave of BGS attack. But still the midfield tracked back tirelessly, and our defence kept its composure under pressure. Wesley showed us why he’ll be a top keeper in the future, pulling off an incredible double-save from point blank range. With the clock running down, and the game still goalless, we thought the result was heading towards a well deserved draw for us. However, with football being the cruel game that it is, this wasn’t to be. In the dying moments of the match, BGS launched an attack down the left wing. The cross deflected off Jay Gorasia, forcing Bennett Dunne to clear it. Unfortunately, the ball came off his shin and ended up in the back of the net. From the kick-off, a mix-up in the forward line allowed BGS to attack again, earning them a corner kick, which ended up with one of their players heading the ball into our goal. The final score was 2-0 to BGS, and we felt robbed. However there were plenty of positives to take from this game, and praise must go to the entire backline: Jay Gorasia, Leron Krasniqi, Shaun Gall, Bennett Dunne, Jack Plowman-Holmes, Julian Clark-Wellsmore, Wesley Hatcher and Jonathan Thong.

Hope you lot enjoyed it. Now, sleeping time. Almost.
