The Post-April Fool's Day Post

"Memories, like the corners of my mind..."

We had our first of two Queensland Core Skills Test (QCS) trials today. It was alright, some of the questions were ridiculous, but that's the QCS for you. Somewhat weird questions to test your higher order thinking ability. The real one is in early September.

"Misty water-coloured memories, of the way we were..."

March has come and gone, so have January and February. First of four exam blocks have also ended. Another April Fool's Day has passed as well. Any pranks played in your part of the world? I woke up to Sea FM's morning crew announcing that a Playboy casino was going to be built here on the Gold Coast. Thought that would be a good idea, should let some friends know. Would be rude not to share the fun. On the way to school, around 8am, it was announced that it was another April Fool's prank. Cue the broken hearts of many Gold Coast men. In a way I was pretty let down, but I had forgotten that it was the first day of April, so that's okay...

I guess.

Some New Zealand radio station told its listeners that Foo Fighters were offering a free gig at a warehouse in Auckland. They were expecting an attendance of around 200. They got over 2000. Another prank gone bad. Sad Kiwis.

"Scattered pictures, of the smiles we left behind..."

Heh, we've got Inter-House Futsal tomorrow. My house, Kaiser, has a decent team. Hopefully we can do well. We're mid-table finishers all the time. Mediocrity is fine as long as you've given it your all.

"Smiles we gave to one another, for the way we were..."

Yeah, I've got a Streisand song stuck in my head. It's called "The Way We Were", incase you didn't know. Used to get a lot of airtime on Light FM, back in the days when it was called Lite & Easy. It's a good radio station simply because its different from the others. No heart-pounding hip-hop, no rubbish RnB, although there's some pop songs. Oldies are good. Not many people seem to appreciate that these days.

"If we had the chance to do it all again, tell me would we?..."

Would you?

"Could we?"

28 more days to my 17th birthday. Fantastic. Another year goes by so fast.

"So its the laughter we remember..."
